The good doctor betrayed his core values--if he had any--for what he thinks will be quick fixes. He doesn't explain how he may have tried to help his own party; what right has he to complain that he was ignored? Maybe he tried once and became disillusioned because "change" wasn't instantaneous.
For now he's playing at being a country doctor. He needs a bureaucrat in his face, dictating what medical procedures he can and can't do, setting price controls for his services.
Ron Paul is a Republican, trying to change things from inside the tent. I don't agree with him 100%, but Paul is an example of how to go about things the right way, and how diverse the modern GOP is (by accident, not mandate). Paul isn't voting for McCain but he's not voting for ObamACORN, either.

ever since he won his candidacy, every report of him has built golden statues. The only people who would trash obama are fox and talk radio, a hell of a lot less than the people who hear McCain being trashed.

I wouldn't go so far to say Fox and Conservative talk radio ever "trashed" Obama, rgroom1.
They've simply reported on Obama's ultra-liberal voting record, his TWO self-serving autobiographies, his suspicious, detestable circle of f(r)iends like "Rev" Wright, Ayers and Rezko, his lack of experience (so McCain has the big ego...how 'bout the hubris of believing you're Presidential material after 143 do-nothing days in the Senate)?
